Over two hundred people of all ages gathered in Parkdale on July 27 to dance, sing and play—a perfect way to enjoy a lovely afternoon in a beautiful setting. The Parkdale Summer Party was more than a gathering; it was a celebration of community. The Hutson Museum, Parkdale Grange and Hood River Latino Project hosted the Parkdale Summer Party in the Red Barn Park. Neighbors jived to live music by Los Renegados, a live DJ, a dance contest, and karaoke, courtesy the Hood River Latino Network and the Rural Organizing Project. Friendly competitions like the Parkdale Grange pie-eating contest, tug-of-war, a balloon toss drew young and old. Kids and adults transformed rocks into colorful art objects at the Hutson Museum rock painting table. We even had a visit from the Parkdale Fire Department firetruck!
